Combined Heat & Power

How CHP works

CHP converts a single fuel into both electricity and heat in a single process at the point of use.

CHP is a highly efficient solution that captures the heat created through the electricity generation process, producing heat and power simultaneously. CHP can benefit all types of businesses. Payback within 2-5 years CHP and can cut your energy costs by up to 40%.

Single fuel for power and heat

Providing almost continuous operation, a CHP unit requires only a single fuel (typically Mains Gas, LPG, Bio-Gas or Biomass) to function, simplifying your infrastructure requirements.

Heat recovery

Simultaneously, heat is recovered from the engine exhaust, jacket and water/oil cooling circuit. The heat is then made available for redistribution on-site, via a hot water or steam system.

Benefits of CHP for your business

  • A highly efficient technology, by using waste heat, CHP plants can reach efficiency ratings in excess of 80%.
  • Utilise captured heat, on-site for critical operations, space, water heating and processes. Can even be used for absorption chilling.
  • Lower your electricity costs and reduce reliance on grid energy by generating your own electricity on-site.
  • Gain budget stability through predictable electricity costs and accurate forecasting of operating expenses.
  • Lower your Carbon Footprint

40% reduction on energy costs by generating on-site and benefitting from heat utilisation.

Increase your profitability by reducing operating costs.

2-3 years typical pay back on a CHP system.
